Suntime provides an automatic change of day/night screen colors depending on GPS position and time. The change is made only if the GPS reception is OK. The change test is made within a period you define yourself in the configuration file of Suntime.
Suntime is useless on GOx10, which have a light sensor. On those devices, installing Suntime may produce permanent color changes at some period of day.
To run Suntime correctly on Rider 2 (with v6), One XL, GOx10 or GOx20 (with v7), perform the following actions :
This version includes the screen rotation feature that fixes the garbaged screen problem on Rider 2 (with v6) and on One XL, GOx10 and GOx20 (with v7).
Suntime configuration is performed thru a menu, which appears when you click on Suntime icon in the main menu of your Tomtom.
Color change parameter allows you to choose between a color change right at sunrise/sunset timel (unchecked box) or at dawn/twilight time (checked box).
Language parameter defines the language used for Suntime messages and menu. You may add other languages by adding some language files in the /suntime directory on your Tomtom, with a .lng suffix.
GMT offset defines the value of the GMT offset in the timezone where you're using Suntime. Use + and - buttons to increase or decrease value between -12 and +12. The value may have decimals, which are separated from the entire value by a point, but you must modify it directly in the /suntime/config.txt file.
Period parameter defines the time interval between 2 color change tests. Use the + and - buttons to increase or decrease it by 5 seconds. The minimum value is 10 seconds. The lower value you choose, the more you'll be disturbed by a Tomtom bug that will cancel any input in Tomtom navigation application, when Suntime wakes up.
Display parameter defines Suntime message level, amongst :
The /suntime directory contains a file called /suntime/config.txt which is managed thru the configuration menu. Here is an example :
[Begin parameters] language english.lng period 60 gmtoffset 1 twilight yes verbose normal screenadaptation none [End parameters]
If this file is missing, GMT offset is equal to +1, the period is equal to 60 seconds, change happens at sunrise/sunset, the level of messages is set to normal, there is no screen adaptation and the language is english.
To test Suntime, change manually the color of screen for the reverse value than desired at the test time. In less than the period you've defined, the screen color should change.
This installation will add at the end of your main menu a Suntime icon. This icon allows you to stop Suntime if it is running or start it if it is not running. When Suntime stops, it issues a flashing message Stopping Suntime... if you've chosen a message level different from none. If you have a customized menu, you'll need to modify it to see the Suntime icon.
This version allows you to :
This version allows you to choose the level of messages displayed by Suntime :
This version fixes the dead-lock in Suntime when other plugins like Tripmaster, Offroad ou NMEALogger are used.
This version allows you to stop or start Suntime when you want, although Suntime may still be launched automatically at Tomtom boot.
This version does not include the configuration file. If you're installing Suntime for the first time, you'll need to create the configuration file as described below. If you don't create it, Suntime will work with the default values for each of its parameters. If you're upgrading Suntime, this version will re-use the configuration file already present on your Tomtom.
This version allows to set a decimal GMT offset, like 9.5 for 9h30.
This version allows to set up the time gap between two time and coordinates checks. This may be a palliative for the following bug : if Suntime runs when a keyboard caption is currently done, the values already keyed are erased.
It fixes the problem encountered on GOx00 and allows to choose between a dawn/twilight change or a sunrise/sunset change.
